Beginning October 1st we ask you to join in the Parish Novena to St. Denis (whose Feast Day is October 9th). Let us pray, in solidarity, asking our Patron Saint for his prayers and intercession that God would continue to lead us and grace us that we would be faithful disciples of Jesus, "undaunted by any trial".    O God, You conferred Your saving Faith on the people of France through Your holy bishop and martyr Denis, and did glorify him before and after his martyrdom by many miracles. Grant us, through his intercession, that the Faith practiced and preached by him may be our light on the way of life, so that we may be preserved from all anxieties of conscience, and if by human frailty we have sinned, we may return to You speedily by true penance.  Moreover, I beseech You to graciously grant me, through the merits and intercession of this powerful Helper, the petition which through him I humbly place before You, devoutly saying, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”  Amen. JOIN US IN THE PARISH CENTER TO CELEBRATE ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10th  5-8pm.  Enjoy a spaghetti and meatball dinner catered by Joe Leone’s, and salads by Jimmy’s Cucina, with soda, water, coffee and dessert! Eucharistic Adoration takes place First Fridays from noon to 1:00 pm in the church. We look forward to the beautiful prayer of presence with our Lord.

Two caregiver support groups are offered at our parish:  *Caregiver Support Group meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 11am and  *Support Group Specifically for Spouse Caring for a Spouse meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 3 pm.  Both support groups meet at the Parish Center (119 Virginia Ave.) providing a judgment-free space for caregivers.  What to expect: Environment: A stress-free, safe space respectful of everyone's comfort level and pace.  Focus: Open for caregivers to share, learn, listen, or destress.   Facilitated by: Caregiver Coach Kat Verdi    Please call 732-379-2266 to register.

Participating children, ages 4-10, will be seated with their families for the Introductory Rites of the Mass. The group will be dismissed to their gathering space downstairs to share an age-appropriate reflection on the Sunday readings. Everyone will rejoin their families prior to the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We will celebrate at the 9:30 am Mass in the main church on October 4 & 18, and November 1 & 15. (“Cor”) is a partnership of the Men’s Group of St. Denis and the Knights of Columbus with the goal of enriching discipleship. Cor’s mission is for each man to “know Jesus” and strengthen him in faith through a brotherhood committed to fraternity, formation, prayer, and charity toward our neighbor. Cor is Latin for "heart" and the root of the word “courage”. Our next meeting will be 6 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 13th, at the St. Denis Parish Center. We'll gather as a group for fellowship and cover the first session of this year's program, "The Stations of the Eucharist". The Stations of the Eucharist are a transformative journey through the story of salvation history. They span the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation, pausing at fourteen specific moments that reveal how the Eucharist has been part of God’s plan to save humanity from the very beginning. We meet at 6 pm on the 2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of every month (the next being Oct. 27th) at the St. Denis Parish Center. Each meeting will cover one station, which consists of a short video, discussion, and fellowship.  If you miss a meeting, no big deal, join us when you can.  For more info, please contact the rectory. 

Catholic Daughters, Ct. St. Denis will be  collecting all types of socks for our neighbors at the Manasquan Ministerium Food Pantry during the month of October.  Men’s women’s and children’s socks are needed. There will be a collection basket in the Gathering Space of the church October 3-13.  THANK YOU!

FIFTEEN:5 - WINE, DINE, & "THE VINE" event on Friday, October 2, 2026, starting at 7:00 pm in St. Denis Parish Center.  All those in their 20's, 30's, and 40's are invited. No need to be a member of St Denis Parish.  Join us and bring a friend for fellowship with your peers and our first session of "Metanoia", our program this year.  Metanoia is a conversion that helps us move from something to someone, turning us to a relationship with Jesus, consistent with our FIFTEEN:5 motto of "remain on the vine, bear much fruit". Metanoia is hosted by Fr. Dave Pivonka and filmed on location in the Holy Land. After this kick-off, we meet the second Thursday of each month in the St. Denis Parish Center, beginning at 7:00 pm.  No worries if you miss a meeting, just join us when possible.  You can watch the missed video on your own. The feast day of St. Francis of Assisi is October 4th.  Because of his love of animals, we will have the annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 4th at 12:00 pm on the front steps of the church. Parishioners and friends are invited to attend with their pets... rain or shine.

Our WWP community is comprised of women, just like you. We strive to learn more about our faith and understand how the teachings of Jesus Christ can strengthen us to be the women we are called to be. Together we create an authentic community that laughs, learns, grows, and loves one another. We are so much more than a Bible study! Join us for our next WWP Season starting 10/6/26 or 10/7/26. Walking With Purpose is offering a series for young adult women on Tuesdays, 7:30-9 pm, beginning October 6, 2026.  The group will meet in the St. Deis Parish Center. Beloved: Opening Your Heart Young Adult, Part 1 is a six-lesson Bible study that invites you to lay a strong foundation for your true identity as a beloved daughter of God. ST. DENIS CHILDREN’S CHOIR is excited to welcome new voices! We are looking for children who enjoy singing to join us in making joyful music. No need to read music—just the ability to read is enough! The choir sings twice a month, from October through June. Rehearsals will take place the Monday evening before each sing at Mass, from 5:30-6:15 pm in the St. Denis Parish Center Chapel. Our next rehearsal will be on Monday, October 19th.  The first Masses we will sing at are on October 4th & 25th. The commitment is flexible. The NJ Bishops will celebrate a Mass for Life on Tursday, 10/8/26 at 9:30 am at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, 1515 N. Warren Street in Trenton.  The New Jersey March for Life will follow the Mass, beginning at 11 am at the Statehouse Annex, a short walk from the Cathedral.  For more information visit https://dioceseoftrenton.org/nj-march-for-life.  The Knights of Columbus Councils 816, 3611, and 3231 have resrved a round-trip bus to the Trenton.  Departure is from St. Margaret Church parking lot in Spring Lake at 7:30 am.  All are invited.  The cost is $10 in cash per person, payable upon boarding the bus.  To reserve a seat, please call Courtney at the St. Denis Parish Office at 732-223-0287. America Needs Fatima organization is coordinating over 22,000 Rosary Rallies across America on Saturday, October 10.  We will be holding one at St. Denis on Saturday, October 10 at noon outside the Rectory by the Stations of the Cross monuments, rain or shine.   Feel free to bring a chair if you like.
 

On Sunday, October 18th, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Denis will be celebrating Catholic Daughters Sunday at the 9:30 am Mass. Please join us to worship together in thanksgiving for all that has been and in the hope of even more that can be with your help.  Mass will be followed by a light breakfast in the Parish Center where we can share more information and answer any questions you may have about CDA.  All are welcome!

Hope all grandparents enjoyed “National Grandparents Day” celebrated on September 13 and the special blessing that was offered at the Masses. This year the Guild celebrated both the August “World Day for Grandparents” (honors Jesus’ grandparents) and the recent one celebrated in the United States. Now that you have met a few of us, we hope that you will come to our October 20 meeting to learn more about the Guild and join us for prayer, conversation, and fellowship. The meetings are on the third Tuesday of  the month at 11 am in the Parish Center.
